In honour of International Women’s Day, we are celebrating the women behind the scenes who help make the magic happen. Both women are passionate about equality and actively try to make the world a better place so this year’s theme couldn’t be more fitting – Choose to challenge. Each one of us can choose to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality, but we can also choose to celebrate other women’s achievements – collectively, we can help to create a better, more inclusive world.

Choosing to celebrate other’s achievements doesn’t diminish your own, but it could be the difference in keeping someone going. Running a business is hard so giving a like, a share or adding to your story could be the little thing that helps someone keep at it. This tiny act of promotion could make that person’s day and why shouldn’t we celebrate our friends and what they are doing? Lift each other up and celebrate all the wins together.

We celebrate wins together all the time here, our first online order (that was a biggy), securing our first food festival (hoping to get to those this year), and just coming up with new creations – each one is celebrated between us and long may that continue!

Emma

Emma is the star baker behind MoodyMare Patisserie and my god, what would we do without her? Emma is a trained patisserie chef and chocolatier and her passion and drive produces the most incredible bakes. The last few months have proved that no challenge is too tough, and Emma has created the most amazing occasion cakes, perfect hand-made chocolates and mind-blowing hot chocolate bombs. Emma’s skills are out of this world and we are in awe of what she continues to do.

Libby

Libby is our seasoned marketeer and taster. While we have been a bit quiet on Gilli’s social side due to the pandemic, Libby is busy working behind the seasons to ensure we are raring to go with new partnerships, supplier spotlight blogs and event planning. We absolutely can’t wait to meet everyone face to face and take the food festivals by storm. Libby is also an extremely impressive tester, whether it’s a new treat from Emma or gin from a supplier we know Libby will be first in line.
